Fred Mullins - CEO / Founder
Fred has an extensive background in the travel / visitor market industry, having published popular hardcover, in-room guidebooks that better hotels provide for the guests. These guidebooks provide useful information on a city’s better restaurants, retailers, sightseeing, attractions, nightlife & entertainment. Front Row Media, his first company, produced these guidebooks in numerous cities, before selling the company to Landmark Communications in 1991.
In 1992, Mullins conceives the idea of producing in-room travel videos for the hotel industry and takes the idea to HBO. That company was in the business of selling movies for viewing in hotels, and saw how a relationship would benefit their efforts. Mullins was appointed VP of The HBO Visitor Information Network and rolled the product out to nine major U.S. cities…overseeing the production of the movies and directing the ad sales product as well. Left the company in 1995.
In 1995, he re-entered in to the hardcover, in-room guidebook business, and still has an interest in books in Asheville, NC, Greenville, SC and Lexington, KY. 2002, Mullins approached Aaron Spelling, the famous television producer of 90210, Charmed and others television shows. The concept was to get a relationship with current, popular television shows, then provide viewers with access to all the clothes, furniture and other "set decorations” they saw, so that they could find where to purchase these things. See That Again was launched and executed the business plan with some success…then the internet boomed, and STA did not respond to the challenge and was forced to close in 2005.
In 2012 Mullins decided to chase a dream that utilized his experience in video production and ad sales and started A Look At Media.
